The Weld County School District RE10J - Briggsdale Board of Education's decisions are options for the students and family/guardian to accept and the liability that follows their decision;
Students that are attending face-to-face option for their education, the family/guardian and/or students understand the risks and accept the inherent risk when attending the schools during school days, school-sponsored activities, school vehicles, and other events;
The students, staff, and community understand and accept the risks of attending any activities in the district's buildings, playground, vehicles, or facilities; and accept the responsibility and liability of risks of injury, contagious disease, and other inherrent risks.

Go, Falcons! Briggsdale qualified for post season football and will play Stratton/Liberty on Saturday, November 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty High School in Joes, CO. Attendance information will follow later in the week.
Saturday's game against Idalia is cancelled because Idalia is out for 2 weeks due to a COVID case. Mr. Mondt is looking for a replacement game.
Tuesday's junior high football game is cancelled due to the condition of the football field.
Peetz will not have any concessions at the game tonight.

Hi,
I must report we have had our first positive COVID case in our district.
The tracing process with local public health gives us a contact date for exposure, and we look at the two week period which is recommended after the exposure date. Also, we use guidelines from the Colorado Department of Public Health for tracking based on close contacts and targeted contacts, as well as the direct contact in each situation.
In this situation, based on the information received, we have followed the guidelines and procedures to protect or students and staff.

Peetz changed the time for Friday's football game (October 23) to follow the junior high game. The start time will be at about 6:00 p.m.
We received word that Walmart Transportation awarded Briggsdale Elementary $2000 through their Miles for Education Program. We appreciate that Walmart chose us for this award. Thank you!
Friday's junior high game against Prairie will be rescheduled at a later date.

The kindergarten and first grade will be on a field trip to a pumpkin patch on October 7.

Football is back! Mandatory football practice starts today. The first game is at Otis High School. Junior high starts at 4:00 and is followed by high school football at 7:00. GO FALCONS!

We are excited to announce that high school football has been approved for Colorado. Mandatory practice starts September 24, 2020. CHSAA is creating the schedule for all teams. Please be on the lookout for changes to our athletic calendar. GO, FALCONS!!

USDA extends free meals for all children this fall
On Monday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture extended the option for child nutrition program sponsors to operate the Summer Food Service Program and Seamless Summer Option through as late as Dec. 31, 2020, dependent on available funding. This allows schools to offer nutritious meals to all children, regardless of free and reduced price meal eligibility status, at no charge this fall. This means free breakfast and lunch for ALL students until the federal funds run out.
