Dear Guests: We are pleased to welcome you to Briggsdale High School for the games. Briggsdale fans will enter the gym from the south door under the canopy. The opposing team fans will enter through the main door. We appreciate your support of the student athletes from both schools. It is our goal for our athletes to be able to play in these games, and as such, we want to respect the athletes from both schools. The current rules for our athletes is that they wear masks at all times. Our athletes are respectful of these rules, and we ask that, as spectators, we are also respectful of the guidelines. Please clear the gym after the girls’ games to allow us ample time to sanitize the gym before the boys’ games. Even if you have players on both girls and boys teams, we ask that you leave the gym and go to the cafetorium or outside to your vehicle. When sanitization is complete, you will follow the same sign in procedures. We also ask that each team’s fans remain in their own cohort in order to minimize the risk of COVID 19. We consider you our friends and guests. We have taken these precautions because we want all of our athletes to keep playing, and we want to be able to watch our athletes play. Thank you for your respectfulness of all of our athletes and programs. We invite you to participate in this competition with the best of luck. Sincerely, Cathi Fulton, Principal

To All Families, Guardians, and Stakeholders; Thank you for all that you have done in screening our students before they attend school and keeping students with symptoms at home. Unfortunately, we continue to receive Executive Orders or declarations that have an effect on the district. We are adjusting to the different requirements and are following the leadership of the Briggsdale School Board, Weld County Local Public Health, Weld County Commissioners, Governor, Colorado Department of Public Health, and the CDC. We are informing the School Board of the Briggsdale School District’s Covid numbers, Weld County numbers, and State information. The biggest challenge in decision making during this time is the safety of all students, staff, and community. The way this disease interacts with the separate age groups is not consistent enough to be able to project what might happen in the future, and the direct impact to any one person is so different. In our decisions, every factor is considered, and we do not have any experiences to fall back on so we are learning as we go, just like you are. The contradictive information we receive from the experts doesn’t help; and the way the directives are written creates a challenge to interpret their meaning. Know that we are making decisions for the district; however, everyone needs to make decisions that are best for their family and the people you are responsible for. The Board of Education’s decisions are options for the students and family/guardian to accept and the liability that follows their decision; Students that are attending face to face option for their education, the family/guardian and/or students understand the risks and accept the inherent risk when attending the schools during school days, school-sponsored activities, school vehicles, and other events; The students, staff, and community understand and accept the risks of attending any activities in the district’s buildings, playground, vehicles, or facilities; and accept the responsibility and liability of the risks of injury, contagious disease, and other inherent risks. Statement from the Weld County Board of Commissioners regarding the state’s dial decision: The state’s decision to move Weld County into the red portion of the dial does not change the stance of the Weld County Board of Commissioners with regard to enforcement of the state’s mandates. Instead, county government continues to do what it has done since March, which is promote and encourage residents and business owners to take individual responsibility and make decisions to protect themselves, their families, their community and their businesses. The county will not enforce a rule confining individuals to their homes for an undetermined length of time; the county will not enforce a rule that states residents cannot have personal gatherings; the county will not tell the school districts how to provide education to their students; the county will not enforce a rule requiring a reduction of attendees in places of worship; the county will not enforce a rule demanding restaurants close their indoor dining areas; the county will not enforce any rule that forces a business to shut down or impedes their ability to operate. The county will continue to encourage individuals to actively engage in prevention methods with regard to the virus: physically distance yourself from others, wash your hands, cover your cough, stay home if you are sick, clean frequently touched surfaces. The county will continue to encourage individuals to evaluate their personal situation and make decisions that protect them as best as possible. The Board of Weld County Commissioners This is the current information that we have for our school district. Thank You again for your flex ability and understanding as we do the best we can to educate your students. Rick Mondt, Superintendent
