Remembering September 11, 2001 — 25 Years Later
Today marks 25 years since the attacks that changed our nation forever. On that day, nearly 3,000 people lost their lives, and countless first responders, service members, and everyday Americans answered the call to help, protect, and rebuild.
What we remember most, 25 years later, is not just what was lost, but what was proven that day — the strength, resilience, and unity of the American people. Our country was attacked because of what it stands for: freedom, liberty, and the belief that all people deserve the chance to live free. In the face of that attack, Americans came together and reminded the world exactly why this nation is worth defending.
Today, and every day, we honor the victims of 9/11, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the men and women of our armed forces — active duty and veterans alike — who have served and continue to serve to protect our freedom and our way of life. Their courage and sacrifice deserve our deepest gratitude.
Briggsdale School District stands with our community in remembrance today — proud to be American, and grateful for the freedom we enjoy because of those who protect it.
